Kings Lynn Steampunk Society Is a collective of eclectic and interesting people with a passion for Steampunk in Kings Lynn and the surrounding areas. While it is primarily a Facebook group, members meet up for a monthly get together at the atmospheric and historic pub, the Lattice House in Kings Lynn on the third Sunday of each month.
Our members are drawn to Steampunk for a variety of reasons. Many are drawn by the aesthetics of the retro futuristic Victorian costumes that we lovingly make or trawl through charity and antique shops to develop and customise. Others come via the science fiction side of the genre, from Jules Verne to Michael Moorcock, and many are drawn to the free and creative nature of Steampunk, where there are no hard and fast rules governing costumes or behaviour, other than, be splendid to everyone.
KLSS organise various events throughout the year, from picnics at stately homes, to Bathing Belles at the seaside. We are always eager to spend time with like-minded individuals, show off our splendid outfits and enjoy a tipple or two! Huzzah!
